Electronic Call Handling Operations
ECHO is a not-for-profit organisation helping to improve emergency response times by streamlining communication between Alarm Receiving Centres and blue light services. With over 300,000 alarmed sites connected and more than 40,000 incidents handled annually, the platform plays a vital role in speeding up emergency deployment and enhancing public safety.
The project focused on designing a complete URN application system and dashboard to support automated alarm signalling across services. The goal was to improve efficiency, reduce human error and allow for quicker, more reliable incident responses. I carried out detailed research to understand user needs and worked closely with the wider team to shape a solution that could handle sensitive, time-critical information with clarity and accuracy.
I created high-fidelity mockups and a full design system to ensure consistency and ease of development. Interactions were carefully considered to minimise errors and streamline key workflows. The dashboard was built to support rapid decision-making, with an emphasis on shared situational awareness, improved data quality and secure, reliable performance across agencies.
